What Is the Reggio Emilia Approach?

The Reggio Emilia approach is an educational philosophy built around the idea that children learn best through play, exploration, and relationships.

What Is STEM in Early Childhood?

STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math — but in preschool, it’s much more than that! It’s about building problem-solving skills, encouraging creativity, and developing curiosity about how the world works.

• Science: Observing nature, mixing colors, planting seeds, or exploring what floats and sinks.
• Technology: Using simple tools, experimenting with cause and effect, and exploring patterns.

• Engineering: Building towers, designing ramps, or testing ideas to see what works best. • Math: Counting snacks, comparing sizes, sorting colors, or measuring water.

How Reggio and STEM Work Together

When we combine Reggio Emilia and STEM, children don’t just memorize facts — they discover. They learn to ask questions like:

• 'What will happen if...?'
• 'How can I make this work?' • 'Why did that happen?'

Through hands-on projects and group collaboration, children learn to think like scientists, engineers, and artists — all while having fun!
